Euronext/BME – You' re next?/BUY

We believe ENX will make a counter-bid for BME following SIX's all-cash offer. While adhering to ENX's strict M&A criteria, we see room for ENX to match or offer a small premium to the SIX offer price. Strategic, political and regulatory factors will likely play an important role as well. While we are less convinced that ENX will be able to put up a good fight than during the M&A battle with Nasdaq over Oslo Børs VPS, we conclude that it is certainly not a lost battle from the start. ENX is an ING Benelux favourite. Standalone valuation remains attractive.
